In 2005, the landmark Xbox 360 was released to the public by Microsoft. While popular gaming consoles were nothing new, the constant evolution and expansion of this technology pulled kids from exploring the outdoor world to exploring virtual worlds with their thumbs. Today, it was recorded that only 27% of children regularly play outside, compared to 71% of their parents. While gaming consoles aren’t going anywhere, it’s important to balance their addictive nature with stimulating experiences that are made up of more than 1s and 0s.
